A very warm welcome to the fellowship at Meadowbank & Willowbrae Church!

We're a Church of Scotland congregation in the east of Edinburgh. We believe that God, who is made known in Jesus, is active in the world and is with us through the Holy Spirit. Together we want our Christian faith to make a difference to the way we live, to be life-giving, both locally and beyond. Why not join us as we try together to be followers of Jesus?

Everyone is welcome to come to church services and activities, on Sundays and throughout the week. If there is anything we can do to make it easier for you to join in, please let us know.

Upcoming events are listed on the What’s On page, the online calendar, and some are also advertised on Eventbrite. If you are on social media you may like to follow us there by clicking on the links below. You can also follow us in the YouVersion Bible app. We look forward to seeing you soon!

WHAT HAPPENS ON SUNDAYS?

Our Sunday services at 10.30am are a time for meeting each other in fellowship, but above all a time for meeting God in song, music, silence, and prayers; and especially to think of how the Bible tells us that God is involved in our world. Worship lasts for about an hour. Afterwards, we chat over tea and coffee together in the hall.

If you would like someone to pray with you, perhaps to ask for God's help or to give thanks, please wait in the church at the end of the service and one of our elders will be happy to pray with you. Anything you say will be kept private.

Children are always welcome! We have a kids corner in the church with toys and colouring for little ones. There is a small Sunday School, suitable for any child of Primary School age or younger. Your children should sit with you for the first part of the service, then they will be invited to go to the upstairs meeting room for some age-appropriate hymns, a Bible Story, a prayer, and fun crafts. Visiting children are very welcome to join in too.

Song words and responses are shown on the projector screens. Hymn books are available if you prefer, and we also have a Braille hymn book. There is an induction loop system. There is level access to the building through the front door on London Road and the side door on Marionville Road. There is an accessible toilet with baby changing.

We are delighted to have Rev Lourens de Jager as our minister! However, the church is far more than the minister: it is a team in which everyone matters. We want to benefit from the insight, talents, energy, and faith of all who are willing to offer them. But if you simply want to come and sit, you are equally welcome.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CHURCH?

The best way to support the church is to get involved! Ask one of the elders about current volunteering opportunities.

You can also support our work financially. One-off donations can be made through the Church of Scotland website (choose “Donate to a congregation”). If you would like to give regularly, ask the treasurer about setting up a standing order and Gift Aid.
